The Annual Progress Report Presentation and Executive Committee Expansion Program organized by the Nepali Cultural Center—established with the objective of preserving the shared identity and cultural heritage of the Nepali community in Chicago—was partially conducted today, April 19, 2026, under special circumstances.

Although the program could not be carried out in full as originally scheduled due to the sudden illness of the organization’s President, Mr. Bala Ghimire, it witnessed notable participation from representatives of the Nepali Cultural Center, Nepali American Center, various organizations active in the Chicagoland area, and prominent community members. Their presence made the program meaningful and impactful.

During the program, in-depth discussions and exchanges of ideas were held regarding the necessity of the Cultural Center, its long-term significance, and strategies required to successfully implement this project. Additionally, detailed information was presented on the joint efforts made by the Nepali Cultural Center and the Nepali American Center toward establishing the Cultural Center, including updates on financial status and institutional progress, which conveyed a positive message to the participants.

The program was chaired by the Vice President of the organization, Mr. Khem Pathak. On the occasion, former President of the Nepali American Center and respected social figure, Mr. Bishnu Phuyal, attended as the chief guest and shared his best wishes, highlighting past efforts and future responsibilities for the establishment of the Cultural Center.

Similarly, Trustee Member of the Nepali American Center, Mr. Dilli Phuyal, provided clear insights into the organization’s activities to date and its future plans. The President of the Nepali American Center, Mr. Ankur Sharma, also presented a detailed overview of the social and financial efforts undertaken in support of the Cultural Center establishment campaign.

On behalf of the Nepali Cultural Center, Chicago, the Treasurer, Mr. Balhari Adhikari, presented the organization’s financial report. Furthermore, the Chair of the program, Mr. Khem Pathak, shared an overview of the organization’s overall activities and made a heartfelt appeal to the entire community to unite and collaborate for the success of this initiative.

The program was hosted by the General Secretary of the organization, Mr. Shyam Parajuli. Active participation from representatives of various Nepali organizations in Chicagoland and surrounding areas further enriched the program, making it more meaningful and productive.

In conclusion, the program was formally closed by Chair Mr. Khem Pathak, expressing best wishes for the speedy recovery of President Mr. Bala Ghimire and reaffirming the commitment to conduct future programs in a more organized and effective manner.
